We are a travel company rooted in the principles of Community-Based Tourism, dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich culture and unique lifestyle of Ladakh especially focused on the Changpa community in Ladakh. Our curated experiences go beyond sightseeing, they immerse travelers in the rhythm of Changpa life, fostering authentic connections with one of the most remarkable tribal communities of the Ladakh Himalayas.

Our Story
Born Changpa
We were born Changpa — raised in the high-altitude plains of Changthang, Ladakh, where our families have roamed for generations with yaks, sheep, and the famous pashmina goats. Our upbringing was framed by the rhythm of seasonal migration, the whisper of rebo-tents made from yak wool, and the wind-sung stories of our elders. We learned early on that life as a Changpa isn't just a way of making a living — it's a deeply rooted identity, steeped in ancient ecological wisdom.
Witnessing Change
Yet over time, like many in our community, we witnessed a shift. Some Changpa families began to trade their herds for more stable livelihoods, drawn by the growing opportunities of tourism, portering, and work with the army. Our ancestors' way of life, while admired, started becoming harder to sustain in the face of climate change, shifting economies, and changing aspirations.
Building Goat Walk
That's when we decided to build Goat Walk — not just another travel company, but a bridge between two worlds: the nomadic Changpa tradition and the modern-day traveler's longing for authenticity. Through Goat Walk, we create journeys that don't simply observe Changpa life — they immerse you in it. You'll sleep in our rebo tents, herd alongside us at dawn, weave yak-hair rugs by sunset, and share tsampa and butter tea by the fire.
