Our Story
We were born Changpa — raised in the high-altitude plains of Changthang, Ladakh, where our families have roamed for generations with yaks, sheep, and the famous pashmina goats. Our upbringing was framed by the rhythm of seasonal migration and the wind-sung stories of our elders.
Over time, we witnessed many Changpa families trading their herds for more stable livelihoods in tourism and other work. Our ancestors' way of life, while admired, became harder to sustain in the face of climate change and shifting economies.
That's when we built Goat Walk — a bridge between nomadic Changpa tradition and the modern traveler's longing for authenticity. Through immersive journeys, we preserve our heritage while creating sustainable livelihoods that keep our nomadic roots alive for future generations.
